The other day, my Brother-the-Oldest and his wife, S.I.L.K., welcomed their first child into the world. Baby-the-First, weighing in at between 5 and 9 pounds and measuring between 17 and 26 inches in length, is quite adorable, as you can see from above.
Mother and daughter are doing well, resting up in the hospital. As you can see, the baby is tiny.
This is the first grandchild for all grandparents involved: obviously everyone is ecstatic.
I'll be going down to visit the baby in the next few weeks. That's when the cheek-pinching will begin: we are, of course, Italian and have an ethnic stereotype to uphold.

Very good! S-I-L-K is mad. Her stitches and something else hurt when she laughs.

I need more info on the masked identities--is this just good old postmodern fun, or a bona fide counter-identity theft precaution?!?
